Entry level wines and mid price bottles have experienced significant sales increases sales this Golden Week Mid Autumn Festival according to Hannan Huanrui trading company. A huge 30% increase in sales is reported from for wines retailing at £20 to £80. This is due to the increasing number of mid income customers who are able to purchase wines for themselves or as gifts. Plus, retailers are now actively targeting ‘middle class’ people in addition to the ‘super rich’ – which previously was their focus. ‘The boom in reasonably priced wine reflects the increased attention on the Winners of the CWSA Best Value which are the Winners of ‘great taste’ at a ‘great price’ for everyday drinking’, Jan Chan CWSA.
