Exhibitors couldn’t help to notice the incredible numbers of Chinese visitors at this year’s recent Vinexpo Bordeaux, France. More than 50% of visitors wearing BUYER passes were in town to see what wines they would order for the fastest growing wine market in the world – China. Seen in all wine producing regions of the show from Tuscany to Turkey – it demonstrated their interest in ALL world wines. Recent CWSA winners had a significant advantage and proudly showcased their medal stickers to attract attention. Mr Charles Wu, acting as a translator for an importer from Hangzhou province reported that “my client is looking for good quality red and white wines, with an elegant label, priced at around 7 EURO per bottle, with an international wine medal and a CWSA Gold medal. All these things and they will purchase this week”. See some of the winners here…
