The awards ‘China Wine Awards 2012’ have recognized the quality of three wines of the cooperative ‘El Progreso’ of Villarrubia de los Ojos (Ciudad Real) by giving several gold and silver medals.
Said by the cooperative today they have won a gold medal – Ojos del Guadiana wine young Tempranillo 2011 and two silver – the Ojos del Guadiana Oak Syrah 2011 and Ojos del Guadiana Reserva 2008 respectively.
All of these 100 Chinese judges are buyers, distributors, importers or wholesalers from China and Hong Kong, thru reflecting the actual taste of the Chinese population compared to wine. As noted by Mercedes Millan – responsible for export of El Progreso “provides a springboard to enter the Asian market.”
The president of El Progreso (www.bodegaselprogreso.com), Cesarean Cabrera, expressed his great satisfaction with the awards and commented that “this year has broken all records of Chinese participation in these awards, twice in the previous edition, and our wines are very well positioned.”
This has led to the head of the cooperative to ensure they are studying to be present in the following Awards ‘China Best Value Wine & Spirits 2013’ (wines with good quality / price), to be held in the lounge of Mira Hotel Hong Kong in March 2013.
