This week the whole wine world has been taking about CWSA Best Value 2013 medal winners. See some of the widespread media on www.cwsa.org/press/. A significant double page article in conjunction with the superb Portugal Wine Guide was featured in Diario de Noticias, Portugal’s oldest and most prestigious newspaper congratulating the recent winners and described the CWSA as ‘the Oscars of the wine world in China‘. Winning winemakers from France, Spain, South Africa, Portugal and Australia were also spotted at Tokyo Wine Gourmet 2013 proudly displaying CWSA medals. Pete Gottgens of Asara Wine Estate, recently awarded the CWSA South African Wine Producer of the Year 2013 reported their win has attracted a wave of positive industry attention from China and as far afield as California. ‘In the past two years we’ve invested in quality and it is great to reap the rewards. China is an important market for us and we are investing in expanding our market share and it’s satisfying to see South Africa performing so well in a competition of this standard in China’.
