One Trophy, Five Double Golds and Six Gold Medals – we’re celebrating!

Congratulations to the Wolf Blass team for another fantastic win, collecting one Trophy, five Double Golds and six Gold medals at the China Wine & Spirits Awards Best Value 2013.

The Wines of South Australia Trophy 2013 was awarded to the Wolf Blass Gold Label Adelaide Hills Shiraz Viognier 2010 which continues its success from last year, winning the Glen & Fiona Morton Trophy for Best Shiraz of Show at the 2012 Cowra Wine Show.

The China Wine & Spirits Awards are the only awards in the world judged specifically for the China market and are entirely focused on consumer preferences and demand. The Judges are key Chinese wine importers, distributors, wholesalers, restaurant group owners and sommeliers based in China.

During judging, wines were paired with a selection of typical Chinese banquet dishes. The Wolf Blass Gold Label Shiraz Viognier was paired with Peking Duck; Roast Suckling Pig; Wok-baked Lobster in Supreme Sauce; Sautéed Jumbo Prawns and Fresh Scallops with Pine Seeds; Deep Fried Sea Bass Back Fin, Bean Curd, Barbecued Pork and Shiitake Mushroom Braised in Clay Casserole; Braised Pork; Thickened Chicken Broth Swirled with Seafood Medley, Egg White and Diced Bean Curd; and Braised Fish Maw & Vegetable Sprouts on Soft E-fu Noodles.
