A boutique wine business that has grown organically around the lives of two Australian wine entrepreneurs through “blood, sweat and tears” has notched up international recognition at the biggest and most prestigious wine competition in Hong Kong and China. Fox Gordon range of fine wines charmed the palates of Chinese buyers at the recent 2012 China Wine Awards, winning the Australian Wine Producer of the Year and Wines of Barossa Valley Trophies and four double gold medals. The wines are sold around fine dining restaurants in Australia, Asia and Europe. A retail arrangement with Coles-owned fine wine specialist Vintage Cellars also contributed to Fox Gordon’s annual $1.5 million turnover. All of the 14,000 cases of wine produced from the family-owned vineyard are sold every year. “The China market is a strong area of growth for our brand and this will help with our brand recognition” Atkins, joint owner of Fox Gordon said.
