The big story last week is LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA starting a project to make sparkling wine in northwestern China’s Ningxia province. LVMH and Ningxia Reclamation Group will establish a winery with 67 hectares of grapes at the eastern foot of Helan Mountain, according Chang Limin, deputy director of the reclamation bureau and deputy general manager of the reclamation group. The reclamation group will separately grow a further ~100 hectares of grapes for the winery. LVMH is one of a string of Sino-French wineries hoping to cash in on the fast growing Chinese wine market.
